Schott Pharma Jagodina – Clean Room

Our client, Schott Pharma, is part of the multinational company Schott, which specialises in glass and glass ceramics. Schott Pharma has one of the broadest and most advanced manufacturing programs for pharmaceutical syringes, cartridges, vials and ampoules in the injectable drug market. Our client produces more than 13 billion medicine containers every year.

Schott Pharma decided to build a production facility for vials and ampoules in Jagodina, Central Serbia.

Oktopaz rendered construction supervision and health & safety coordination. We paid special attention to the construction and furnishing of the clean room. Clean rooms enable high-precision manufacturing and research through a controlled environment that significantly reduces the risk of contamination-related problems. Our construction supervision covered the areas of architecture, building structures and materials, energy efficiency, fire safety, water supply and sewage, electrical, thermo-technical, and process building services. We contributed to achieving our client’s high-quality standards.

All surfaces in the clean room are “smooth and impermeable”, do not create dust, are solid, accessible and easy to clean, and have no protrusions or depressions.

The air filtration system is critical for ensuring the controlled environment meets the required cleanliness standards by removing air contaminants. HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters capture at least 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 micrometres (µm) in diameter. HEPA filters are at the clean room’s supply air terminals.

Lighting contributes to the clean room’s functionality and cleanliness of the environment. The lamps are smooth, easy to clean and sealed to prevent the penetration of contaminants.

MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems in a clean room are crucial for maintaining a controlled environment for various high-precision and contamination-sensitive processes. These systems ensure proper air quality and temperature.

The contractor sealed sockets, switches, and conduits to prevent contaminants and maintain the cleanliness of the environment.

The quality of the material corresponds to being used in the pharmaceutical industry.

All elements are of non-combustible materials.
